Batter Smile
Someone on tumblr asked if I liked the 4 eyed batter idea and how they like that I chose blue eyes instead of red, a common interpretation of him.
My answer was ‘Yes!’ I do like those designs as well, my reasoning for the four eyes look was always a representation of the player controlling the Batter. Hence the extra eyes. I do know that interpretation was mostly due to people seeing The Batter’s sprite and thinking he had an extra pair of eyes.
Personally, I always saw them as eyebrows and his eyes closed. The Batter in the comic is not controlled by a player, so he gets a normal amount of eyes.
The blue eyes choice was for two reasons:
The batter looks more ‘normal’ with a more common eye color, which helps push home that the man we’ve been watching is not actually a good guy.
2nd reason was that he needs to have eyes that match Hugo’s, who I wanted to look and feel innocent through and through.

This fan comic is basically a one to one playthrough of the indie game, OFF, but in a comic format. OFF holds a special place in my heart and I would like to see this adaption through to the end.

About the Game
OFF is a 2008 free indie RPG created by Mortis Ghost and his team Unproductive Fun Time using RPGmaker 2003.
In OFF, the player controls a character called “The Batter”. He states his ultimate sacred mission is to "Purify" the world. The game is set in a strange universe, having to travel through the different "Zones" of the world. Along the way, the player encounters numerous bizarre beings, a manifold of unsettling creatures, and lots of puzzles that need to be solved in order to progress.
